I'm a teacher by day so although I'm myself to a certain degree, I also have to put on a front and it can be exhausting! But in my personal life I've been through some tough times and come through the other side. I sometimes have a 'wobble' but I have a very supportive husband who reminds me that lots of people love me just the way I am. And my kids show me that unconditional love that only children ( and maybe dogs) can!
Hope to see you here again!
X
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-25615149295723795802013-04-11T18:17:30.025-07:002013-04-11T18:17:30.025-07:00I bet you'll like the whole poem, Patty. I now advise people who get snarky about my new attitude that "this is who I really am. I tried the costume you picked, but it just didn't fit" :)Pattynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-54319219492414640122013-04-09T07:22:05.476-07:002013-04-09T07:22:05.476-07:00Hi Patti,

Yeats has a wonderful poem that ends, "Song, let them take it, for there's more enterprise in walking naked." When we stop singing the songs of others, a whole new world opens up. So glad you're here on the journey with us!

Hugs,

CaroleAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10971624648476665079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-4472514491477936162013-04-09T04:36:29.782-07:002013-04-09T04:36:29.782-07:00Hi Patty, and thanks so much for clicking through!...Hi Patty, and thanks so much for clicking through! Isn't Melody's site awesome? She and Carole have both been such a big part of my learning in this area and I love them both to bits! :-)

Isn't it a wonderful feeling when you start to sort through your old "closet of suits" and start picking out new roles that you REALLY want and are comfortable wearing?

Here's to the journey back to you! :-)Nathaliehttp://www.vibeshifting.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-47185045572237586852013-04-08T22:28:10.603-07:002013-04-08T22:28:10.603-07:00Nathalie and Carol,

I agree completely that we as women have a much harder time following our heart song due to the conditioning we've received from childhood on that tries to stuff us into 'suits' that others feel we SHOULD wear!
I'm so glad to have found you ladies. You're helping me along my journey back to me :)
~Patty~Pattynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-20215598998293994882013-04-07T19:21:14.456-07:002013-04-07T19:21:14.456-07:00Hi Molly, and thanks for commenting! :-) It is ver...Hi Molly, and thanks for commenting! :-) It is very true that this is common for women... we try so hard to fit ourselves into what other people think our roles as mothers and wives and business-women are, and we end up trying to take care of everyone else's need except our own. It can be so hard sometimes to stop listening to all those outside voices and find the stillness to listen to that voice within. Making those changes and learning to listen to ourselves is one of the hardest things we can do, but it is so worth it. I'm so glad to hear you are following your own path now, and I wish you all the best along the way! :-)Nathaliehttp://www.vibeshifting.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805049741973891603.post-32644519564286551422013-04-07T19:07:12.287-07:002013-04-07T19:07:12.287-07:00True words, Molly! We often shape ourselves to fit the world around us and to suit other people's needs and expectations. It's a hard habit to break but I really believe it gets easier as you get older to be true to yourself. I had to make some major life changes and it was the hardest thing in the world but I couldn't leave it any longer. No one can make your life better except for you. No one can deal with your grief and loss except for you. No one can make your star shine brightly - except for you. :-) xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
